...to give people heroes at their current level? I know this has probably been said before, but honestly now this is ri-goddamn-diculous. There are few things quite as disheartening as having an old prophecies character go over to nightfall and finding yourself with a level 2 koss. Its even more disheartening remembering you need your crappy level 8 dunkoro for the first mission if you don't want to suffer through finding a pug. Its just another stupid added grind element to the game we could all live without. They took out the sunspear rank requirement for foreign characters, why not give us our heroes at a reasonable level too? Hell, even if they don't want to do that because for some reason they like having us grind to get our character's leveled couldn't they at least take out the required heroes for foreign characters?

Also, I'd like anet to get me a pony for christmas. Its about as likely as them doing something this simple and so based on common sense it seems anyway.

You do realize that while heroes are below your currently level, they earn xp at 5x the normal rate. Throw on a couple xp scrolls and they catch up real fast.

Maybe thats why my Koss leveled like 5 times in the middle of Consulate Docks.

Yes I'm aware of that, however its still a waste of time. I rolled a bonder on my monk and took my heroes out to kill trolls outside of drok's, complete with XP scrolls. Still time I could have spent doing far better things if I didn't have to deal with this kind of crap.

I have the same problem. I don't like taking the time to find pugs or dealing with the morons in them, but when it comes to my hero's it gets pretty repetitive when you have 6 Tyrian characters and 2 from Factions to level.

I do agree with this, I mean if you are level 20 already and have come from Cantha/Tyria, which means you have done all those pre quests etc etc, Why not give you level 20 heroes aswel ? Seems fair.

Its really not that hard to lvl them up, just play the game normally and they will be up to speed

they give you olias at lvl 15, is that so you dont have to lvl the guy for ages before using him? of course it is...LOL

Low-level heroes is actually what chased me away from playing on my ranger (my only non-NF char with heroes). I spent a little over an hour doing a bunch of quests I skipped in factions just to try to get them up to speed...after that i found out that quest rewards don't help your heroes....

How should I level them with a ranger? I dont' know of any solo ranger farming builds...

When I finish a quest, my heroes recieve benifits of XP. If there was a little XP bar under their face in the Skill menu or something that would be helpful.

As for the levels... Meh. I really don't care. They level with me but it is a pain.

Getting XP at 5x the normal rate is more than enough. Here's a way to get all your heros up to lvl 20 easily.

1- Find a quest
2- Do the quest, don't take the hero if you don't want to.
3- Just before you accept the reward, add the hero to your party.
4- Hero gets 5x the quest reward without going anywhere.

Whats next? Not wanting to level up your new characters because it's a waste of time to get to 20 even though it can be done in one day?

Come on.

You dont' have to take the time to power level each one, take tem out into explorable areas while you do quests or farm sunspear points or just continue the primary quests and mission and befor eyou know it, they will be leveled up. Sure some of them will stay low due to the fact you may not need them, but who cares.

It's not hard or long to level them up.

^^ actually it does take a long time to do them when you're only able to play on weekends and do your homework/go to work like you're supposed to....

sorry if you find that offending, but it does take longer for people that actually have a normal busy life

QFT... at least give level 15 heroes to foreigners so that a level 2 koss isnt COMPLETELY useless since you start off the Nightfall campaign in a level 15+ area.

I don't mind too much levelling the heroes on my previous characters, I have 8.

I just take them with me to Lutgardis Conservatory, while the quest is short and easy I get 2000 exp to share plus the chests and factions! It's a bit boring and repetitive but they level up quickly.

Sure, it would be better if the heroes would have the same level of your character, tho!

I levelled them once with my Tyrian Warrior, then when I took my Mesmer through, I pretty much waited until I was at the Desolation before using wurms to level them.
Now with every other character, I'm ignoring heroes and trying to pug it. Levelling heroes, even WITH the 5x experience rate, is incredibly tedious.
Let alone which, I might be wrong here, but you don't level when you're dead, do you?
Because they're such a pathetically low level, from Consulate Docks onwards, most of these heroes spend most of their time sucking sand.

... they dont get 5x the quest reward, they get the normal quest reward. You just include them whenver you do quests, there are plenty to be done.

Is is ever annoying when you take your level 20 into Nightfall, his a 'Hero X is required for this mission!' forcing you to add that hero... while he's only level 2.

While it's nice we don't have to keep them alive and all, it effectively weakens your party, yes?

Now... I personally won't care if this is implemented or not. But I hope it is.
